French-Canadian Eric Gagne career looks like it is coming to an end.  The 2003 Cy Young Award winner has an injured shoulder and is currently getting a second opinion on whether it requires surgery.  Even if it doesn’t require surgery, his bid at making the Brewers roster is done.  Gagne signed a minor league contract that would pay him over a million dollars if he makes the 25 man roster.  But there is a clause in the contract that states he becomes a free agent if not on the roster by March 25.  Gord Ash of the Brewers said that their is no chance on them keeping him.

   Hopefully Gagne can catch on with another team as I would personally like to see him finish his career on a higher note.  Gagne has been either injured or ineffective pretty much since he won the Cy Young in 2003.
