I would personally like to thank Rich Harden & Ryan Dempster for not playing for their country in the WBC.  On the day that we could’ve used them, they were too busy throwing shut out innings in a meaningless spring training game.  As we all know Canada was eliminated from the World Baseball Classic by Italy on Monday.  I’m not saying that the pitching was the entire reason we lost, but it sure doesn’t help when you have retreads like Perkins & Johnson pitching for you.  The hitters didn’t really get in a groove either.   They seemed to be pressing a bit in the later innings of the game.  Perhaps because the pitching put us behind the eight ball in the first inning.

Hopefully in the next WBC, all our players who are healthy will play for their country. After all, it should be an honour to play, not an inconvienence.

I hope the Cubs choke this season, Dempster and Harden.
